I am excited and passionate about beginning my career as a teacher. My first experience in the classroom was as
a substitute teacher. I supervised classes from grades 6-12 and realized that I felt truly comfortable and at home in
the classroom with these students. I was excited to hear what they had to say and what they were learning.
I am particularly interested in secondary education because, though not every student may want to attend college, every
student should have the option. As such, I am deeply comitted to working with secondary education students so that I
can help them prepare and ready themselves for what awaits them after graduation.
Throughout my educational experience, Writing and Language Arts have always been my areas of expertise. My
Bachelor of Arts in English focused on Writing, which I feel is extremely important to teach to students, especially in this
day and age of computer lingo and text messaging.
I know that I have something truly special to offer students. It is my goal to infuse them with a passion for literature,
reading, writing, theatre, and film. Above all, it is my ultimate hope that my students become lifetime learners.
If I can instill in them a love for learning, then they will have walked away with something far more valuable than a knowledge
of Shakespeare. They will have a lifelong hunger for information and understanding, which is what all of the people
who have made this world great possessed.
